AEL-Berkman delivers integrated transport solutions across the supply chain for cargo to & from China and Hong Kong to businesses worldwide. We are a daughter company of Berkman Holding, a more than a century old enterprise in The Netherlands.

In 1998 AEL-Berkman Forwarding (HK) Ltd. was founded as a joint venture between AEL Asia Express, Hong Kong (est. 1985) and Berkman Forwarding B.V., The Netherlands (est. 1988). In 2010 Berkman Forwarding Ltd acquired the sole ownership of AEL-Berkman Forwarding (HK) Ltd.

Today AEL-Berkman has grown to a mid-size freight forwarder with eleven offices in seven countries. Worldwide we work with more than 65 exclusive and reliable partners; serving over 2000 satisfied customers and handling an annual volume of more than 50.000 Teu's a year.

Our services are not limited to any specific transport. We are determined towards a "total logistic concept", a cohesive model for all products,  by all modes.

AEL Berkman Forwarding offers fast transit time and cost
savings on China-Australia consol service

AEL Berkman Forwarding offers customers the promise of a fast transit time and cost savings on its weekly China-Australia consolidation service, serving the east coast hubs of Sydney and Melbourne.

The consolidation service includes calls at the ports of Shanghai, Hong Kong and Shenzhen in China before heading onward to the Australian east coast, AEL Berkman Forwarding's Shanghai general manager, Wim Andriessen said.

The service is but one of the many offerings the company has as part of its diverse portfolio out of China, where it has been operating for over 25 years.

Consolidation services have been a major part of the company's operational focus in recent years as it looks to help clients cut back on costs, particularly within China.

AEL Berkman has a team dedicated to finding these cost saving opportunities through consolidating less than container load (LCL) shipments throughout China.

"We want to make sure that we do not miss out on any of these opportunities, which can really save our customers a lot of money," Mr Andriessen said.

And cost savings is the name of the game today, as operating costs continue to climb in the current market environment.

AEL Berkman Forwarding's consolidation service not only aims to minimise costs, but also removes the stress of having to search for ways to reduce costs, thus allowing the customer to focus its efforts on its own core business.

"We take care of the whole order process with the factories here in China. We check the goods to see when they are ready. We look at how to combine these shipments and which provinces it makes sense to combine. We look at what we need to do to ensure the best economic result for our client as possible.

"And that is something that our clients appreciate very much," Mr Andriessen said.

AEL Berkman also offers customers shipping goods from China to Australia an Air-Sea option and door to door service. The company is also an expert in the handling of hanging garment, reefer and heavy cargo shipments.
