Asia, North America and Europe absorb 95 per cent of
Chinese-made containers

ASIA, North America and Europe were the three largest markets for the Chinese-made containers, which imported 95 per cent of the Chinese boxes, according to a Xinhua report.
Additionally, the volumes of China's container imports and exports have been growing significantly over the past few years, and the high growth rate is expected to continue this year.
In 2013, the full-year container exports grew at the beginning of the year but declined at the end. Conversely, the box imports hit the full-year low in January but rebounded to the peak in December. >More

China's express industry faces major shakeout as bigger
players consolidate the sector

SF EXPRESS, one of China's largest couriers, has announced that it will expand cold chain services from first to second tier cities this year and then into even smaller centres.
Meanwhile, a smaller courier, which once aimed to be the sixth largest in China, is facing likely bankruptcy as the sector goes through a shakeout on government approved, if not mandated, consolidation.
As the early first half is traditionally slack for the express industry, the elimination of smaller firms is expected to accelerate, said China Supply Chain Management Union executive Huang Gang.  >More
